On the Vanha-Kähmä farm in Kisko, domestic garlic is grown with honest work and with a big hart. The brothers Hannu and Timo Saario grow a garlic brand called Kähmä Gourmet under the production name Kähmän Kaali ja Pukki. Kähmä Gourmet is a winter garlic which is planted in the autumn and starts growing when the snow melts in the spring. Characteristic for this variety of garlic is its juicy, soft and potent aroma. When kept in dry conditions and in room temperature, the Kähmä Gourmet is preserved from the harvest in august til at least april, and often for even more than a year.
